Because life’s about more than just food (though, let’s be real, food is pretty amazing). Here’s what I’m loving this month to nourish not just your body, but your mind and soul too!
🎵 Song:
High Tide by Batteaux
Why I love it:
This song just makes me smile every time I hear it. I first heard it in a Floating Points set, and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard of Batteaux before. It’s got this feel-good, timeless vibe that lifts your mood instantly.
🍴 Restaurant:
Little Duck The Picklery, Dalston
Why I love it:
If you know me, you know I’m all about small plates and organic wine, and Little Duck delivers on both. The open kitchen gives you a peek into the magic happening, and the dishes are always full of flavour— fibre packed for our gut and umami goodness in every bite. Plenty of orange wine too!
📚 Book:
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
Why I love it:
This book is heartbreaking in the most beautiful way. It’s about Charlie, a man with an intellectual disability who undergoes an experimental surgery to increase his intelligence. As his mind expands, so does his awareness of the world around him. What made it even more special for me was that a friend thoughtfully picked it out, knowing I was looking for something light to get back into reading for pleasure. It’s been a reminder that not everything I read has to be about gut health, hormones, or the latest research!!
