I’m the person who always asks, “What did you have for lunch?” My friends joke, “Do we really have nothing else to talk about…,” but they don’t realise how genuinely interested I am in hearing about their meals!
For a long time, though, despite my love for food, I saw it merely as a way to stay full and manage my weight.
That changed in 2019 when health issues hit hard—severe bloating, very poor energy, candida overgrowth, a LOT of cravings, and a constant brain fog.
Despite consulting many doctors and trying various treatments, my symptoms only worsened. Desperate for relief, I turned to alternative health methods. While many sources highlighted nutrition’s role in symptom relief, the information often conflicted and confused me.
To gain clarity, I enrolled in a Nutritional Sciences course at Stanford University. Today, as a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I can proudly say my symptoms are in full remission.
I’ve come to understand that achieving long-term health involves starting from the foundations. It’s about viewing food as medicine, as nutrition. But it’s also about learning to be your best friend, managing your emotions, stress, prioritising sleep, and aligning with nature’s rhythms. It’s an integrative approach that requires commitment—it’s about addressing the root cause rather than applying a bandage to the symptoms.
It wasn’t the quick fix I initially hoped for, but I’ve never felt more connected to my body, happier, and at peace.
