Za’atar ricotta spread

The reason I’ll have this on repeat is…

I just can’t resist the combination of creamy ricotta and za’atar!

Jokes aside, this is a protein and fibre-packed snack that will feed your good gut microbes and keep you feeling energised and satisfied!

Za’atar is a Middle Eastern spice blend containing thyme, oregano, sumac, and sesame seeds. Sesame seeds contain lignans, which are thought to support hormonal balance, especially during the second part of the menstrual cycle (luteal phase). It is also a great way to incorporate a variety of spices to support your gut!

  • 2 tbsp ricotta
  • 2 tbsp za’atar
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Pepper and salt
  • Seeded Bread
  • Tomatoes
  • Mint (optional)
Add all the ingredients to a bowl and whisk well. Spread the mixture on top of your fav bread. Add slices of tomatoes and some mint, and sprinkle with extra za’atar! *I normally keep this in the fridge as it lasts 5-7 days!
